Pitch Perfect 2

Pitch Perfect 2 e exact genul de film care pretinde ca este: o comedie usor tampita, destul de amuzanta, cu muzica si fete mai mult sau mai putin dubioase. Este ultimul an la facultate pentru majoritatea membrelor grupului de Acapella al colegiului Barden, The Barden Bellas. In urma unui incident dizgratios, grupul risca sa se destrame. Pentru a putea continua, trebuie sa castige o competitie internationala din Danemerca.

Nicio echipa americana nu a mai casitgat panaa cum competitia, pentru ca toata lumea ii urasta pe americani. Plus, printre concurenti se afla si echipa germana DMS – Das Sound Machine, condusi de o tipa perfecta din punct de vedere fizic.

Beca (Anna Kendrik) este singura care pare sa se gandeasca serios la viata de dupa facultate. Si-a gasit un job de internship la o casa de productie, iar relatia ei cu Jesse (Skylar Astin) pare sa mearga tot mai bine. Chloe (Britanny Snow), in schimb, amana momentul in care se va desparti de Bellas si se concentreaza numai pe competitie. E clar ca are nevoie de un imbold de la Aubrey (Anna Camp), care se intoarce fix pentru acest lucru. (Plus, Anna Camp si Skylar Astin tocmai s-au logodit!)

Fetele au o noua colega, mostenitoarea unui loc in fratie – Emily (Hailee Steinfeld) este energica si optimista, un suflu nou inspirat de mama ei, Katherine Junk (Katey Sagal). Atat de fermecatoare, reuseste sa-l vrajeasca din prima pe Benji (Ben Platt), colegul lui Jesse. Iar dragostea apare si in viata lui Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), care are o relatie ascunsa cu Bumper (Adam DeVine).

As vrea sa-mi placa de Rebel Wilson si de glumele ei, insa…nu, really not my cup of tea. Anna Kendrick e déjà un star, astept sa o vad conducand un blockbuster. Din pacate, Skylar Astin inca nu a atins acelasi success, dar mai are timp. Oricum, filmul nu se bazeaza pe o vedeta anume, ci pe un grup.

Cea care iese in evidenta este Elizabeth Banks – actrita este si regizoarea filmului, iar pentru reusita de aici merita felicitari. Enjoy!

Magic Mike XXL

Primul Magic Mike a fost un dezastru – s-au concentrat prea mult pe drama “amaratului tamplar” fortat sa se dezbrace pentru bani  si nu a fost amuzant deloc. Partea buna e ca si productarii, si Channing Tatum au fost constienti de asta si au facut o continuare bazandu-se pe FUN.

Magic Mike XXL e o comedie de vara, cu niste tipi haiosi care se dezbraca pentru ca se distreaza. Sunt putin ingrijorati de viitor, ce-i drept, insa nu lasa asta sa le intunece ultimul dans al trupei. Se duc la o conventie a stripperilor (!?!), iar pe drum il agata pentru un week-end si pe fostul lor coleg, Mike cel Magic (Tatum).

In afara de Matthew McCounaughey, actor prea serios pentru asa ceva, se intorc toti – Joe Manganiello (Big Dick Richie), Kevin Nash (Tarzan), Adam Rodriguez (Tito) si, preferatul vostru, las’ ca stiu eu, Matt Bomer (Blue Eyes Ken).

Toata povestea se transforma intr-un road-trip catre conventie, plin de aventuri si intalniri amuzante. Pe drum se intalnesc cu fosta sefa a lui Mike (Jada Pinkett Smith), o femeie proaspat divortata si dornica de aventuri (Andie MacDowell), o tanara artista neinteleasa (Amber Heard) si o prezentatoare cu inclinatii sexuale incerte (Elizabeth Banks).

Filmul nu e doar pentru femei, este numai bun sa va relaxeze intr-o seara cand nu aveti chef sa va culturalizati cu drame de Oscar. Enjoy!

The Lego Movie

Everything is awesome!

I did not expect to like this at all, and yet, what a great movie! Not your normal Lego commercial, though you might wanna go shopping after it. And, despite that, it manages to be a cautionary tale about consumerism in today’s society.

How on Earth did they do that? Sure, buy all the Lego toys you want, just remember that in this world governed by Starbucks and McDonalds, you still have to search for pure joy and happiness. And then they take an awful song, one they themselves call an hymn to materialistic living, and turn it into a hit. Seriously, this is now a good song.

A film with toys and Will Ferrell. You have Chris Pratt as your everyman turned hero, Elizabeth Banks as the cool girl, Will Arnett as Lego Batman, Liam Neeson as The Cop and, again, Will Ferrell as Lord Business. If we ever have to pick villain nicknames for ourselves, I want to be Lord Business!

There are a lot of cameos as well, but I’m just going to mention Morgan Freeman as Vitruvius, Channing Tatum as Superman and Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman.

Since this was a big hit, of course there’s a follow-up: The Lego Movie Sequel, because they don’t beat around the bush with stupid titles involving the number two. And I can’t wait for it! Who would’ve thought? Enjoy!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

Back when I was the only one reading the books, I thought the story was amazing. Now, there has been so much press around this, so many news about the franchise and Jennifer Lawrence, that I’m just bored. Don’t you feel over-saturated with the whole thing?

The movie is good, it makes a point about the Mockingjay idea, the hope behind it and the marketing (or PR, or advertising, not sure what the correct term is here), while putting the love triangle in the back where it belongs.

I liked that they gave Effie more to do, that Sam Claflin got to say something and that Natalie Dormer is finally famous. But, but, but…just make it shine in the end, ok? It’s time to go out with a blast.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Am tot amanat sa scriu despre Hunger Games, desi l-am vazut la vremea lui, la cinema. Pur si simplu nu stiu ce ar mai fi de adaugat – spre deosebire de restul planetei, eu am vazut-o pe Jennifer Lawrence in destule filme in ultima perioada. Da, e grozava, dar mai variem si noi putin?

Dintre personaje, Effie si Haymitch au evoluat cel mai mult. Si mi-au placut foarte mult Finnick (Sam Claflin) si Johanna (Jena Malone).

Dar, ca sa apreciati povestea, trebuie sa cititi cartile. Filmul e bun, insa nu e ceva ce as vrea sa vad si a doua oara.
